Systems with Coulomb interactions
exhibit collective and
collisional effects: field nonlinearities, collective oscillations and
collisions lead to weak chaos, halo formation and losses. The workshop
is intended to open a discussion panel on high intensity beams and
space charge dynamics covering theoretical aspects, numerical
techniques, recent experiments and machine designs.
Attention will be
devoted to collective instabilities, collisional
effects, dynamic aperture, CSR related effects,
resonant extraction, adiabatic diffusion and emittance growth.
One of the goals is to promote a discussion between scientists from
accelerators laboratories and academic institutions.
Graduate students in
beam dynamics or accelerator physics are invited
to participate. Contributions on space charge effects in injectors,
linacs and rings are expected. Discussions on new projects and
experiments are invited.
The workshop is organized by
the Physics Department of
University (Physics of Complex Systems Group) and sponsored by Bologna
University and INFN.
'05 workshop will be held on
September 12 - 16, 2005 in
Senigallia (AN), Italy. The
plenary sessions will take place at the IAT conference room (Palazzo del
Turismo, piazzale Morandi 2, Senigallia), discussion
meetings will also be organized at the Hotel
Duchi della Rovere conference room, a few minutes walk from the
beach and from the centre of the town. There will be invited and
contributed oral presentations. Poster sessions will be organized if
